What is DTF Printing?

April 06, 2025

DTF printing machine featuring advanced technology for high-quality print transfers to fabric.

Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing is a modern printing method that allows full-color designs to be printed onto a special film and then transferred to various fabrics using heat and pressure. This process is revolutionizing custom apparel printing due to its versatility, durability, and ease of use.

How Does DTF Printing Work?

  1. Design Creation – The artwork is prepared digitally and printed onto a special PET transfer film using high-quality CMYK + White inks.
  2. Powder Application – A hot melt adhesive powder is applied to the print, ensuring strong adhesion to the fabric.
  3. Curing Process – The powder is then cured using a heat press or conveyor oven.
  4. Transfer to Fabric – The prepared transfer is heat-pressed onto a T-shirt, hoodie, or other garments, allowing the ink and adhesive to bond with the fabric.
  5. Peel & Finish – After pressing, the film is peeled away, leaving a vibrant, durable print.

Benefits of DTF Printing

✅ Works on Any Fabric – Cotton, polyester, blends, leather, and more.
✅ Vibrant, Full-Color Prints – Rich color quality with fine details and gradients.
✅ Durable & Long-Lasting – Resistant to cracking, peeling, and fading.
✅ Soft & Flexible Feel – Maintains a comfortable, lightweight texture.
✅ No Weeding Required – Unlike vinyl, there's no need to remove excess material.
✅ Low Setup Costs – More affordable than screen printing for short runs.
